Based mostly in Amsterdam and partly in Paris (as witnessed by the picture), I am a freelance writer, editor and allround communications consultant specialized in the life sciences.

As a writer, I cover (European) science policy and biomedical research for journals like Nature Biotechnology. However, a growing part of my work involves other types of writing.

For example, as a writer and editor, I have created numerous commercial texts, press statements, web texts, invitations and research reports. Moreover, I authored business and research proposals which, taken together, gathered tens of millons of euros from various funding sources, including the Dutch government.

As a communications consultant, I provided stategic advice on dealing with the media, sometimes through hands-on training, to international companies and organizations as well as leading Dutch politicians. I also like moderating highly interactive public debates.

Whatever I do, my background shines through: that of a biologist who brings together a strong focus on science and decades of expertise in written and visual media, collected in both Europe and the US.
